SML hubless system for modern sewage installations
The SML 80X80/45 cast iron tee is a key element of an advanced sewage system made of hubless grey cast iron. The product belongs to the PREIS SML series and was developed specifically for gravity sewage installations and drainage systems inside buildings, meeting the rigorous requirements of the EN-877 standard.
Advanced protective coating and material resistance
The tee's construction is based on a multi-layer coating technology that provides comprehensive protection against the aggressive sewage environment. The external surface is covered with a reddish-brown primer paint with a thickness of 40 μm, which can be additionally coated with standard colored lacquer or a coating composition. The internal layer is a fully cross-linked epoxy resin in an ochre (yellow-brown) color with a thickness of 120 μm, applied by spraying for maximum protection against aggressive wastewater.
In the case of fittings, the production process includes applying a colored epoxy resin coating using the immersion method to all surfaces, followed by 45-minute curing at a temperature of approximately 180°C. This advanced process creates an exceptionally durable bond between the fitting and the coating, ensuring exceptional thermal and chemical resistance that significantly exceeds the requirements of EN 877 and RAL-GZ 698.
Fire safety and acoustic comfort
The SML system offers the highest level of fire safety thanks to the A2 flammability class according to EN 13501. Cast iron products are completely non-combustible and non-toxic - they do not produce smoke or flammable substances when in contact with fire. In the event of a fire, they maintain their functional properties for many hours, maintaining the impermeability of the walls to flames and gases, as well as the integrity of wall and ceiling penetrations.
At the same time, the system provides exceptional acoustic protection. The high density of cast iron, combined with the buffering effect of rubber seals at the connecting elements, reduces material sound transmission to a minimum. The result is almost silent sewage discharge, which significantly increases the comfort of use in both office and residential buildings.
Structural stability and ecological aspects
The tee is characterized by exceptional dimensional stability due to a low thermal expansion of only 0.0105 mm/mK, comparable to concrete. The material shows high resistance to impact and deformation and maintains stability during temperature changes. The smooth internal surface creates optimal sewage flow conditions, minimizing the risk of abrasion and the accumulation of contaminants.
From an ecological perspective, the SML system is 100% recyclable, produced mainly from iron scrap without wasting natural resources. The installation of elements is fast and simple, carried out using standard pipe clamps (clamps, bands, couplings) without the need for specialized tools or complicated installation procedures.
SYSTEM ADVANTAGES:
- NON-FLAMMABLE, FIRE PROTECTION - cast iron products made in accordance with en-877 are non-flammable, non-flammable (A2 flammability class according to EN 13501) and non-toxic (no smoke generation, no flammable or dripping materials due to the heat generated). In the event of fire, they retain their functional properties and reliability for many hours, i.e. their walls remain impermeable to flames and gases, without cracking and showing no loss of performance or significant changes in shape. The integrity of wall and ceiling ducts is also maintained.
- ACOUSTIC PROTECTION - Due to the high density of the cast iron and the buffer effect of the rubber gaskets at the connecting elements, the transmission of material sound has been reduced to a minimum, so this system offers an almost silent drainage. This increases the overall comfort in both office and residential buildings.
- THERMAL AND CHEMICAL RESISTANCE - a coating of fully cross-linked epoxy resin (red-brown on the outside and ocher (yellow-brown) on the inside) is applied to the surface of pipes and fittings, and then fired for 45 minutes at a temperature of approx. 180 ° C. The result is a high-strength joint that provides high thermal and chemical resistance, protecting against aggressive wastewater.
