Buffered power supply for fire protection systems

This buffered power supply, dedicated to fire alarm and smoke extraction systems, provides uninterrupted power to devices requiring stabilized 24 V DC voltage. The device's design allows it to operate in buffer mode, simultaneously functioning as a constant and emergency power source. In the event of a mains power failure, it automatically switches to battery power, guaranteeing the continuity of the system.

The power supply is compatible with maintenance-free lead-acid batteries in AGM or gel technology, ensuring reliability and long life. This allows installers to easily select the appropriate batteries for specific project needs. The device has two independently protected power outputs, allowing connection of various receivers.

The EN54C-2A17 power supply meets the stringent requirements of the EN54-4 and EN12101-10 safety standards, confirming its high quality and reliability in critical applications. It has a CNBOP-PIB certificate of conformity, which further guarantees its compliance with applicable regulations.

Equipped with LED optical signaling, it informs about the operating status of the device – the presence of mains voltage and any failures. The housing made of steel sheet (RAL3001) ensures durability and mechanical resistance. A security lock (MR027) protects against unauthorized access to the inside of the device.

Parameters and functionality

The power supply offers an output of 2 A at a voltage of 27.6 V DC for temporary operation and 1.2 A for continuous operation. The battery charging current is 0.8 A, which ensures optimal charging of connected batteries with a capacity of 2 x 17 Ah / 12V. Built-in protections (SCP, OLP, OVP, UVP and tamper) protect the device and connected receivers from damage caused by short circuit, overload, overvoltage, undervoltage and opening of the housing. Two technical outputs (EPS – AC mains failure and ALARM – collective failure) allow remote monitoring of the device status. Additionally, an EXTi input is available for connecting external alarm signals. The device's efficiency of 88% minimizes energy losses and reduces operating costs.
