Buffered power supply for fire protection systems

This buffered power supply, designed for fire alarm systems, smoke and heat control, and fire protection devices, ensures uninterrupted power to critical components. Stabilized 24V DC voltage (with +/-15% tolerance) guarantees reliable operation of safety systems. The device complies with EN54-4 and EN12101-10 standards, confirming its high quality and meeting stringent industry requirements.

Design and functionality

The power supply has two independently protected AUX1 and AUX2 outputs, providing 27.6V DC voltage with a total current capacity of 5A. In the event of a mains power failure, it automatically switches to battery power, eliminating system downtime. The metal housing provides durability and protection against mechanical damage. It is designed for surface mounting and equipped with a lock to prevent unauthorized access. Batteries are not included – 2x40Ah/12V (AGM or gel) models are recommended.

Monitoring and communication

Equipped with a graphic LCD display, the power supply enables real-time monitoring of key operating parameters, such as voltage, current, and battery circuit resistance. Additionally, its functionality can be extended with remote monitoring via Ethernet or RS485 interface. This allows tracking the status of the power supply and batteries in real time from the monitoring center. The built-in PowerSecurity web application facilitates device configuration and diagnostics. The power supply also has relay outputs indicating AC power failure (EPS) and general failure (ALARM), as well as an external failure input (EXTi). A built-in tamper microswitch indicates opening of the housing.

Safety and protection

The implemented protections – short-circuit (SCP), overload (OLP), overvoltage (OVP), and anti-tamper – ensure protection of both the power supply itself and the connected devices. A two-stage battery charging process and fast charging function optimize their lifespan. Additionally, built-in protection against deep battery discharge prevents their damage.
