Construction and equipment

The enclosure houses a complete starting system consisting of a LC1K contactor and an LR2K thermal overload relay. Thanks to this, the starter provides direct motor protection - the thermal relay reacts to current overload and effectively stops the drive before the windings are damaged.

On the front panel of the enclosure, there are:

• Green Start button “I” - motor startup,
• Red Stop/Reset button “O/R” - stopping operation and manual thermal alarm reset,
• Yellow LED indicator signaling the coil operating state - allows for quick identification of a potential fault in the contactor winding itself before proceeding with the diagnosis of the entire system.

The enclosure is made of ABS plastic (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), which ensures adequate mechanical stiffness with a relatively low mass - the entire unit weighs only 0.6 kg. An earth terminal and a neutral wire outlet are located in the lower part of the enclosure, facilitating correct connection in a standard TN-S or TN-C-S installation.

The enclosure dimensions are 78 × 160 × 108 mm, allowing for wall mounting even in tight control panels. The manufacturer has provided a number of cable entry holes - two for each standard: ISO20, ISO25, Pg13, Pg16, and Pg21 - both at the top and bottom of the enclosure.

Operating parameters and motor protection

The thermal relay setting range is 1.8-2.6 A, which corresponds to the power of three-phase motors:

• 0.37 kW at a voltage of 220-240 V AC,
• 0.75 kW at a voltage of 415 V AC,
• 1.1 kW at an operating voltage of 380/400 V AC.

The thermal relay operates in tripping class 10A - which is characteristic of standard industrial applications with moderate starting currents (up to ~6× rated current). The system is temperature-compensated, so the operating characteristic does not change significantly under the influence of ambient temperature in the range of -5…+40 °C.

The starter supports a control voltage of 380 V AC 50/60 Hz. Connection of the main circuits as well as auxiliary and control circuits is performed using screw terminals, ensuring a durable and secure connection without the need for specialized crimping tools.

The device enables external resetting - useful when the enclosure is mounted in a location that makes direct access to the Reset button difficult.

Environmental resistance and compliance

The enclosure protection rating is IP65, which means full dust tightness and protection against water jets from any direction. The starter is therefore suitable for installation in industrial environments with increased dust or risk of moisture contact - production halls, pumping stations, or water treatment plants.

The product complies with the requirements of the IEC 60947-4-1 standard, which defines low-voltage switchgear and controlgear for electric motor control and protection. It also holds UKCA certificates.

In terms of economy and environment, the device is marked as a Green Premium product. This means compliance with the EU RoHS directive (mercury-free, free from toxic heavy metals), REACh regulation (free from substances of very high concern SVHC), and Chinese RoHS. The packaging is made of cardboard consisting of at least 70% recycled material. The product's carbon footprint is approximately 107 kg eq. CO₂ over its life cycle.

The manufacturer provides full technical documentation including a datasheet, product environmental profile, and decommissioning instructions in accordance with WEEE requirements - the product must not be disposed of as municipal waste within the European Union.
