Residual Current Device (RCD) for EV Charger Protection
The Acti9 iID-40-4-30-B-EV RCD is an advanced solution designed to protect electric vehicle charging installations. With a rated current of 40A and a sensitivity of 30mA, this device provides protection against electric shock and minimizes the risk of fire by reacting to both DC and AC leakage currents.
This four-pole (4P) RCD from the Acti9 series is dedicated to use in EV charging stations, where residual currents generated by charging devices may occur. The B-EV type construction guarantees effective protection even in the case of DC currents, which are not detected by standard Type A RCDs. The rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is 6kV, providing additional safety in the event of overvoltage. The device is designed to operate in an ambient temperature from -25°C to 60°C. The cross-section of the connecting conductors is 1-35mm² for solid conductors and 1-25mm² for stranded conductors. The degree of protection IP20 provides protection against contact with fingers and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Power losses are 1.8W at a frequency of 50Hz. The additional possibility of mounting accessories expands the functionality of the device.
