The MPI-520 digital meter is a versatile tool designed for comprehensive measurements in electrical installations. It will be useful both for installers and more demanding measurement technicians, offering a wide range of functions in one device. The meter is designed to perform measurements in accordance with the PN-EN 61557 standard, eliminating the need for multiple single instruments. Made of durable materials and protected by an IP54-rated housing, it is resistant to mechanical damage and ensures comfortable use in various conditions.

Functions and measurement capabilities

MPI-520 enables precise measurements of loop impedance, grounding resistance, RCD parameters (type AC, A and B), insulation resistance and continuity of protective and equipotential connections. Additionally, it offers functions for testing phase sequence, measuring alternating voltage and current, active, reactive and apparent power, and checking the correct connection of the PE protective conductor. This makes it indispensable for the acceptance of electrical installations and in diagnosing problems.

The meter allows you to:

• Loop impedance measurement with 23A current (44A at phase-to-phase voltage) with a resolution of up to 0.01Ω.
• RCD testing with automatic measurement of the full set of parameters after a single press of the START button.
• Insulation resistance measurement with voltages of 50V, 100V, 250V, 500V and 1000V up to 3 GΩ.
• Ground resistance measurement using the three-wire method.
• Quick check of the correct connection of the PE protective conductor using a touch electrode.
• Measurement of voltage, frequency and alternating current (using additional clamps).
• Display of phase-to-phase voltage values.

Ease of use and additional features

The MPI-520 meter is characterized by intuitive operation and has a memory for 990 records (57500 individual results). It is equipped with a USB output for transferring data to a PC. The power supply can come from LR14 (C) type alkaline batteries or optionally from a rechargeable battery. The device meets the requirements of PN-EN 61557 and has a calibration certificate ensuring measurement accuracy. The meter housing has been designed for convenient carrying during work and the cover protects against mechanical damage.

Additional functions include:

• Automatic calculation of short-circuit current and distinction between phase and phase-to-phase voltage.
• Possibility of measuring loop impedance without tripping RCDs with differential currents ≥30mA.
• Automatic discharge of the measured object's capacitance after completion of insulation resistance measurement.
• Auto-calibration of measuring leads – possibility of using leads of any length during measurement of protective and equipotential connections continuity.
