Multilayer pipe for water and heating installations
The Uponor Uni Pipe PLUS pipe is an advanced solution for creating safe and durable plumbing and heating installations. Made of high-quality materials, it provides reliability and corrosion resistance, and its construction minimizes the risk of oxygen diffusion into the system. It is an ideal choice for both professional installers and homeowners who value comfort and long-term operation.
Construction and properties
The Uni Pipe PLUS pipe is characterized by a five-layer structure: an inner and outer layer made of PE-RT II, a middle layer of aluminum (longitudinally welded), and layers of adhesive providing tightness and connection between materials. This construction combines the flexibility of plastics with the strength of aluminum, allowing for easy installation and resistance to mechanical damage. Additionally, the pipe has an anti-diffusion zone that effectively prevents oxygen from penetrating the installation, protecting it from corrosion of metal components.
The pipe is manufactured using SACP (Solid Aluminium Co-Extrusion Process) and OWC (Oxygen Barrier Welding Control) technologies, which guarantee high-quality aluminum welding and an effective anti-diffusion barrier. Fire classification E according to EN 13501-1 ensures safety in the event of a fire. The pipes are supplied with end caps, which provide hygienic protection against contamination during transport and installation.
Application and operating parameters
The Uponor Uni Pipe PLUS pipe is perfect for installations:
- Water supply: for transporting drinking water at temperatures from 0°C to 70°C at a maximum working pressure of 10 bar. Short-term maximum temperature can be up to 95°C.
- Heating: for distributing hot water in heating systems at temperatures up to 80°C at a maximum working pressure of 10 bar. Short-term maximum temperature can be up to 100°C.
- Floor heating: thanks to its flexibility, it is ideal for laying in underfloor heating systems.
The pipe with an outer diameter of 20 mm and a wall thickness of 2.25 mm has a minimum bending radius of 60 mm, which makes it easier to adapt it to complex installation layouts. The linear expansion coefficient is 0.025 mm/(m·K), which should be taken into account when designing installations with a large length. The maximum working pressure of the pipe is 10 bar at 20°C.
