90° Elbow with SC-Contur – Safe Installation, Leak-Free
The elbow is made of stainless steel 316 (1.4401), featuring a solid construction and an integrated EPDM gasket, ensuring continuous installation without the need for welding or threading. The "push-fit end – compression fitting" connection works exclusively within the Sanpress system – it requires the use of a specialized pressing tool, but once pressed, no additional inspection is needed.
SC-Contur is a key feature: if the connection is not properly pressed, water pressure (from 0.1 MPa) will cause a visible leak – the installer immediately identifies the error, and the user is protected from invisible leaks. This is not just a safety mechanism – it is proof of correct installation, eliminating the risk of hidden failures.
The EPDM gasket is resistant to temperatures up to 110 °C and pressures up to 16 bar at 20 °C, making the elbow suitable for both hot water systems (up to 85 °C) and underfloor or radiator heating systems. However, it is not resistant to hydrocarbon solvents – avoid contact with oils, gasoline, or chlorinated solvents.
The 316L material, with 2.3% molybdenum addition, provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard 304 – especially important for installations in areas with high chloride content (e.g., kitchens, pools, coastal zones).
Applications:
- Potable water installations compliant with DIN 1988 and DVGW W 534
- Heating systems (up to 110 °C)
- Rainwater flow systems
- Air compressors
- Industrial and marine applications
There is no drain valve or air vent – this is a pipe-only component. Connection lengths: 40 mm (push-fit end) and 38 mm (compression fitting), allowing precise pipe fitting without excessive extension of the run.
All parameters comply with DVGW and KIWA standards. Installation requires only Viega tools – do not use other pressing tools. Check the tool condition before each installation: improper pressure or worn jaws can lead to leaks.
