Stainless steel compression cap, crimped onto 22 mm pipe
Crimped compression cap made of stainless steel 1.4401, designed for hermetically sealing pipe ends in Sanpress Inox systems. The component requires no threading or welding – installation is performed using a specialized crimping tool, which eliminates the risk of leaks and ensures a durable, reliable connection.
The EPDM rubber gasket is pre-installed and designed for operation across a wide temperature range – from cold domestic water to heating systems up to 105°C. This material is resistant to aging, chlorides, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring the connection remains leak-tight throughout the installation's lifespan.
Designed for systems with pipes of 22 mm outer diameter, the cap works by mechanically compressing the pipe surface – there is no need for adhesives, soldering, or additional seals. The working length of 23.6 mm and total length of 27 mm are matched to standard VIEGA SC-Contur pipe dimensions, guaranteeing compatibility without the need for tool adjustments.
It can be used in potable water installations (according to DIN 1988-200 / PN-EN 806-2), heating systems (according to PN-EN 12828), rainwater systems, and compressed air installations. The maximum working pressure is 16 bar at 20°C – corresponding to PN16 class and covering most typical residential and commercial applications.
The cap is part of the Sanpress Inox system, which meets the Polish National Technical Assessment ITB-KOT-2020/1296 Issue 2 as well as European certificates for press-fit systems. The component contains no materials that degrade water quality – it is lab-free (degreased), making it safe for potable water installations.
Installation is quick and requires no specialized skills beyond the use of the appropriate crimping tool. The absence of threads also reduces the risk of pipe damage during installation – especially when working with thin-walled copper or steel pipes. In the event of incorrect installation (failure to crimp), the connection can be detected at a pressure of just 1 bar – allowing for immediate error detection before filling the entire system.
