Cap with SC 88.9 mm – Pipe End Protection in Water Supply Systems

Crimped cap made of stainless steel 1.4521 (AISI 444) for the Sanpress Inox XL system, designed for hermetically sealing pipe ends with an outer diameter of 88.9 mm. Used both during installation and after completion – prevents contamination of the pipe interior and facilitates leak testing.

The component features a built-in EPDM seal – an elastomer resistant to temperatures from -40°C to +95°C and to drinking water, chlorides, and other aggressive substances. The seal requires no additional lubrication, and its design ensures uniform and durable compression across the entire joint surface. It works together with a metal ring and a spacer ring, which guarantee precise positioning during crimping.

Crimped coupling connection type – no threads, no welding. Installation is performed using standard Sanpress tools – one press, one connection. No pipe end preparation is required prior to installation. The working length of 50 mm represents the minimum crimping depth ensuring full tightness at the maximum operating pressure of 16 bar at 20°C.

The cap is part of the VIEGA Sanpress Inox XL system – compatible with pipes and components of the same type. Not suitable for use in heating or industrial installations with temperatures exceeding 95°C. Not intended for installation on aluminum-steel or copper pipes.

Important: This cap is not merely an aesthetic end plug – it is a functional component that serves as the final closure of the system under pressure and temperature conditions defined by standards for drinking water.
