Copper Tee with SC-Contur Crimping System

This fully copper-made connecting component is designed for creating branches in sanitary and heating installations. Its tee configuration enables the connection of three pipe sections with diameters of 18 mm, 18 mm, and 15 mm. Thanks to the Profipress system featuring the distinctive SC contour, installation is fast and requires no open flame or specialized welding tools. Connections are made by crimping, ensuring repeatability and leak-tightness without the need for additional tightening or torque checking.

A key element of this model is the seal made of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. This material provides high resistance to aging and to the media transported within the installation. In water or heating systems, the seal operates at temperatures up to 110 °C and at a maximum working pressure of 16 bar (at 20 °C). It is worth noting that the connecting surfaces remain in their raw state – they are not nickel-plated or covered with other protective layers, which is typical for high-quality copper components intended for direct contact with water or heating media.

Installation Safety and Application

The SC-Contur system is not only a method for rapid installation but, above all, a safety mechanism. If, during installation, any connection is forgotten to be crimped, this contour prevents the system from being fully filled with pressurized water or makes the leak visibly apparent before system startup. This is a crucial feature for installers, eliminating the risk of failures after walls or floors have been closed.

For professionals, installation is simplified thanks to precisely matched geometric dimensions of the arms: two 18 mm sections have working insertion lengths of 19.9 mm and 13 mm respectively, while the reducing 15 mm arm requires deeper pipe insertion (working length 25 mm). The total length of the component along individual axes ranges from 35 to 47 mm depending on the connection direction – these dimensions allow precise planning of pipe routes without the need for additional shortening or extending adapters.

It is important to remember the operating conditions of this component – when designing an installation, the allowable pressure up to 16 bar at ambient temperature and short-term resistance to temperatures reaching up to 110 °C must be considered. The EPDM rubber-based sealing performs well in typical sanitary environments where durability and resistance to chemical factors of treated water or heating water are required.

Application in Multi-Functional Installations

This component is used where a transition from larger to smaller pipe diameters or vice versa is necessary – for example, at heating manifolds, connections to sanitary appliances, or in hot domestic water circulation systems. Copper as the base material guarantees corrosion resistance and long service life of the installation while maintaining the aesthetic of raw metal.

Installation requires the use of a dedicated crimping head compatible with the Profipress system. After performing the crimping operation, there is no need to wait for hardening as with adhesives or mortars – the system is ready for pressure testing immediately after all components are installed. This significantly reduces the time required for installation work, while the risk of human error is minimized thanks to visual verification of correct joint execution provided by the SC-Contur system.
