Transition between press-fit system and internal thread – without compromise
The Sanpress transition fitting 2312 connects a pipe from the SC-Contur system (outer diameter 15 mm) to a metric internal thread 1/2 inch (Rp). This solution is designed for installations requiring direct and reliable conversion between press-fitting technology and traditional threading – for example, when connecting to valves, radiators, or measuring instruments.
Both ends are made of stainless steel 316 (1.4401), ensuring corrosion resistance even in aggressive environments such as potable water or heating systems with inhibitor additives. The EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene) seal is resistant to temperatures from -25°C to 110°C and does not react with potable water, meeting the requirements of standards for sanitary installations.
A working pressure of up to 16 bar at 20°C means the fitting safely handles even high-pressure district heating or water supply systems. With a length of 49 mm and no bend angle (0°), installation is simple and requires no additional space – ideal for confined areas.
Installation is performed using an SC-Contur press tool – no welding, brazing, or screwing is required. After pressing, the joint remains leak-tight for the entire service life of the installation. The Rp thread is ready for immediate connection – no additional hardening or paste application is needed.
The fitting holds KIWA certification, confirming compliance with European requirements for potable water and heating systems. It features no drain valve or air vent – it is a pure connecting element, simplifying design and reducing the risk of installation errors.
In practice: the installer does not have to choose between the speed of press-fitting and the necessity of threading – this component does both. The end user has no concern about leaks, corrosion, or failures after years of operation.
