Backflow preventer – protection of the water supply network

This BABM type backflow preventer, from the BA series, is a key element protecting water installations from the effects of water backflow and potential contamination. Construction and application

The BABM isolator utilizes the principle of creating an air gap in the intermediate chamber in the event of backflow. This effectively separates the supply zone from the drainage zone, preventing mixing of media. The intermediate chamber drain valve, designed as a piston system, facilitates operation and ensures long-term trouble-free performance. The brass body and check valves made of POM (polyacetal) guarantee durability and corrosion resistance. The drain valve assembly is made of stainless steel, POM and brass – a combination of materials ensuring reliable operation in various conditions.

This isolator is used to protect water networks from secondary contamination. It is designed for use with clean liquids (water) and requires horizontal mounting only. Its nominal diameter is 1 1/2 inch (40 mm), and the connection length is 336 mm. The maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa (10 bar), and the maximum operating temperature is 65°C. The net weight of the isolator is 6.5 kg.
