Reducing tee for water – a reliable connection in the installation
This K5 c/z reducing tee, designed for water systems, connects pipes of different diameters – 20 mm, 16 mm and 16 mm. Made of high-quality polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU), it ensures durability and corrosion resistance, which is particularly important in drinking water installations. It is an element of the Tigris K5 system from Wavin, characterized by radial pressing technology, guaranteeing the tightness and reliability of connections.
Construction and application
This tee is used to branch a water or central heating installation, allowing a change in pipe diameter. It uses clamping sleeves for connections, which simplifies installation and ensures secure pressure retention. Thanks to the use of PPSU, the tee is resistant to high temperatures (up to 70°C continuous operation and short-term up to 100°C) and deposits, which translates into a long service life of the installation. In addition, the steel crimping sleeve increases the strength and reliability of the entire system.
Functionality and safety
A key feature of the K5 tee is the Acoustic Leak Alert function (acoustic leak detection). An uncompressed fitting emits an audible whistle, making it easier to identify the problem during installation testing. The DVGW quality mark for water confirms compliance with safety standards and high product quality. The gasket material – ethylene-propylene-diene monomer rubber (EDPM) – ensures a tight connection. The tee has a support collar for stable mounting and is compatible with various crimping jaw profiles.
