What is a sewage well?

A manhole is one of the main elements of a modern drainage system. Many people associate this term mainly with the manholes visible on city roads and sidewalks. However, manholes are also used in private sewage pipe systems.

An inspection chamber allows access to underground pipelines, e.g. for cleaning and repairing them.

Types of sewage wells

Inspection manholes are divided into:

  • manhole – supplied with a ladder or stairs that allow you to go down to the canal in person;
  • non-entrance – equipped with an opening through which it is possible to carry out inspection using a special camera;
  • connecting – serving as a link between two channels;
  • pass-through – installed, among others, on long, straight sections of the installation and at channel bends.

Each inspection chamber may also differ in material. Today, modern plastics (e.g. polypropylene) are most often used in their production, but traditional concrete rings are still very popular.
