Fiber optic cable for demanding outdoor installations

This ALANTEC fiber optic cable is designed for reliable data transmission in harsh outdoor conditions. Intended for installation in cable ducts, directly in the ground (in areas not exposed to mechanical damage) or for suspension on poles (at intervals of up to 60 meters), it provides a solid and durable connection.

Thanks to the use of single-mode OS2 fibers, it guarantees minimal signal loss and high-quality transmission over long distances.

Construction and protection

The cable is characterized by a multi-tube construction, in which individual optical fibers are placed in loose tubes filled with a hydrophobic gel – this is an effective protection against moisture. In addition, a sheath of aramid fibers and a reinforced core provide high resistance to mechanical damage and rodents. The outer polyethylene (PE) coating is resistant to UV radiation, which increases the cable's lifespan in outdoor conditions. Cable markings may vary depending on the country of manufacture: Z-XOTktsdD or A-DQ(ZN)B2Y.

Application and compatibility

The cable is ideal for building extensive telecommunications networks, backbone, CATV, access, campus, WAN and FTTx networks. High transmission parameters and low dispersion make it suitable for transmitting signals over long distances while maintaining high quality. The single-mode 9/125 μm OS2 fibers are compliant with G.652.D and G.657.A standards, ensuring compatibility with modern data transmission systems. 24 fibers are available in one cable, allowing the construction of complex networks with high bandwidth. Length markings every 1 meter facilitate identification and precise cutting of the cable during installation.
