Power Supply and Control in a Single Device
This device features a universal coil that enables operation with both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) control voltages. This eliminates the need for the installer to select a specific power source for the coil—simply apply a voltage within the range of 24 V AC or 20 V DC, and the contactor will operate correctly. This is particularly useful in automation systems where mixed control circuits are common. The coil's operating voltage is precisely defined: 24 V AC (for 50 Hz and 60 Hz) and 20 V DC. Such flexibility simplifies spare parts logistics and the design of control cabinets.
Power and Application in Motor Circuits
The primary function of this contactor is the safe switching on and off of three-phase circuits. In standard motor applications (category AC-3) at 400 V, the device handles currents up to 32 A, corresponding to a motor power of 15 kW. However, when dealing with resistive loads such as heaters or lighting (category AC-1), its current-carrying capacity increases to 50 A. The device is designed for operation in networks with a working voltage up to 690 V, making it a versatile component in industrial installations with higher parameters. It is worth noting that under NEMA standards, the rated power is approximately 14.9 kW, confirming its robust performance even in demanding environments adhering to American standards.
Construction and Contact Configuration
The device construction is based on a classic screw-terminal connection for the main contacts, ensuring reliable electrical contact and facilitating installation in distribution boards. Inside the enclosure with dimensions 86 mm x 45 mm x 111.5 mm, there is a three-pole main contact system (all normally open), additionally equipped with one normally open auxiliary contact and one normally closed auxiliary contact. This configuration allows not only for motor switching but also for implementing simple signaling functions or logic interlocks without the need to purchase additional auxiliary modules.
Thanks to its compact dimensions and precise construction, this contactor fits into standard distribution boards without occupying excessive space. The screw-terminal connection requires the use of appropriate tools but ensures connection durability even under high inrush currents characteristic of electric motors. This solution proves ideal where reliable operation over years of continuous use is critical.
