U/UTP Cat.3 Cable – Solid Connection for Your Network

This multi-pair U/UTP Category 3 cable, offered by ALANTEC, is a reliable solution for building telecommunications installations inside buildings. Designed for both horizontal and vertical cabling, it is suitable for offices, homes and other facilities where basic data transmission is required. The cable features a construction with 50 pairs of wires and an LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket, ensuring safety in the event of a fire.

The cable has been designed with reliability and ease of installation in mind. Its gray jacket makes it easy to identify in cable routes. Thanks to its Eca class, it meets European standards regarding reaction to fire, which is particularly important in public and residential buildings.

Construction and application

The cable consists of 50 twisted pairs of 0.5mm diameter (24AWG) copper wires, insulated with polyethylene. The lack of shielding makes it an ideal choice for environments with low levels of electromagnetic interference. The cable is designed for data transmission speeds up to 100 Mbps (Ethernet 100BaseVG) at a frequency of 16 MHz. It can be used in LAN, WAN and SAN networks, as well as for telephone connections. Compliance with PoE (IEEE 802.3af) enables powering devices such as VoIP phones or IP cameras directly through the network cable – at a distance of up to 100 meters while maintaining a minimum category of 3.

The cable is particularly recommended for internal installations in ducts, pipes and cable channels, as well as directly under plaster or in plaster with cement-based adhesive. However, it should be avoided laying it in a damp environment or outdoors. The LSOH jacket minimizes the release of smoke and corrosive gases during combustion, increasing the safety of users and property.
