Split system for heating and domestic hot water
The Alfea Extensa S heat pump in the 4,5 kW version is an A+++ (35°C) / A++ (55°C) class split device that allows for efficient heating of residential buildings and the preparation of domestic hot water year-round. The design is divided into two modules - an indoor module integrated with a buffer tank and an outdoor module containing the compressor, evaporator, and fan.
Indoor module - buffer tank with heat exchanger
The hydraulic module installed inside the building houses a patented heating exchanger with a built-in electric heater with a power of 3 kW. There is an option to expand the heater power to 6 kW, providing flexibility in selecting the peak heat source - particularly useful during extreme frosts or heat pump failures. Inside, there is also a buffer tank acting as a capacity buffer for the central heating installation. The tank is equipped with an expansion vessel with a capacity of 12 liters, which stabilizes the pressure in the primary circuit at a maximum working pressure of 3 bar. The hydraulic module weighs approximately 46 kg (empty) and 62 kg (filled with water), and its dimensions are 751 × 448 × 483 mm - its compact form allows for wall mounting even in small boiler rooms.
Outdoor module - compressor and operating parameters
The outdoor unit, with dimensions of 632 × 886 × 353 mm and a weight of 39 kg, contains a fan, compressor, evaporator, and expansion valve. The entire unit is acoustically and thermally insulated - models with power up to 6 kW generate noise at a level of approximately 41 dB, allowing for installation even close to the property boundary without excessive acoustic impact on the neighborhood.
The device operates in an outdoor temperature range from -25°C to +35°C, making it suitable for both moderate and very cold climates. The compressor operates in power modulation mode across 10 stages, controlled by VPAM automation - instead of cyclic on/off switching, the device smoothly adjusts its performance to the current building demand. This translates to lower electricity consumption and higher temperature comfort.
For conditions of 7°C / 35°C, the heating capacity is 4,5 kW with a COP of around 4,74. At a lower installation supply temperature (55°C), the power drops to 3,9 kW at -7°C outdoors - still sufficient to cover the heat losses of a standard single-family house.
R32 refrigerant, piping installation, and electrical supply
The refrigeration system operates on R32 refrigerant with a mass of approximately 0,97 kg. The maximum circuit pressure is 42 bar. The gas-liquid piping installation has diameters of 1/2" - 1/4", and the allowable line length is between a minimum of 3 m and a maximum of 30 m (at standard length without additional equipment). The maximum elevation difference between modules is 20 m, ensuring freedom of arrangement with various building configurations.
The electrical supply is standard 230 V / 50 Hz, single-phase - it does not require expanding the electrical installation with additional phases or costly switchgear modernization. The maximum power consumption of the outdoor unit is approximately 3260 W, while the standby power consumption is only 10 W.
Cozytouch control and warranty conditions
The Cozytouch module is factory-built - there is no need to purchase an additional bridge or gateway. A compatible thermostat (Navilink 225 or Navilink 228) is sufficient to connect the heat pump to the Cozytouch mobile app and manage heating and hot water from anywhere. This function is important both for users valuing the convenience of remote operation and for installers offering smart home solutions as part of a comprehensive installation.
