Alfea Extensa S 8 kW air-to-water split heat pump, 1-phase 230V 527087
Split system with modular architecture
Alfea Extensa S is an air source heat pump in a split variant, where the installation is divided into two independent modules. The indoor module is located in the building's technical room and contains a buffer tank with a capacity of 16 liters and a patented coaxial heat exchanger with a built-in electric heater with a power of 3 kW - with an option to expand to 6 kW if an increase in peak power is required. The outdoor module, mounted on the facade or next to the building, concentrates all the refrigeration cycle technology: the compressor, axial fan, evaporator, and expansion valve. The entire casing of the outdoor module is doubly protected - by acoustic and thermal insulation.
The refrigerant used is R32 - a modern gas with a lower global warming potential than the previously used R410A. The 8 kW model achieves a heating capacity of 7,5 kW at an outdoor temperature of +7°C and a flow temperature of +35°C (with a COP of 4,43), while at -7°C outdoors, it delivers 5,7 kW. The maximum flow temperature is 55°C, and the operating range of the outdoor module reaches from -25°C to +35°C, so the device performs well in practically every climate typical for Poland.
VPAM regulation and control
Intelligent management of operation is handled by VPAM (Variable Power Asynchronous Modulation) automation, which supports 10-step compressor power modulation. In practice, this means smooth adjustment of performance to the current demand of the building - without abrupt switching on and off. Modulation translates directly into lower electricity consumption and higher thermal comfort in rooms.
The hydraulic module is equipped with an intuitive user interface with the possibility of remote management via the Cozytouch application. Thanks to it, you can change the operating mode, set heating schedules, or monitor energy consumption without the need for physical operation of the device.
Hydraulic and electrical parameters
The device is powered single-phase at 230 V / 50 Hz, and the maximum operating current does not exceed 16 A. The maximum power consumption of the outdoor module reaches 4510 W, while in standby mode it drops to approximately 10 W. The circulation of the heating medium is carried out by a built-in circulator with a power consumption of up to 38 W.
Hydraulically, the installation requires maintaining a minimum water flow at a level of 300 l/h - below this threshold, the automation may signal an error or shut down the device. The capacity of the expansion tank is 12 l, the maximum pressure of the primary circuit is 3 bar, and the primary connection is made as a G1" thread. The hydraulic module weighs 62 kg when filled with water - this should be taken into account when designing the supporting structure and floor load capacity.
Installation and operating conditions
The maximum length of the refrigerant line between modules is 30 m (with a standard factory length of up to 15 m, and an additional refrigerant charge allowing for an extension of the range). The maximum height difference is 20 m, which provides great freedom when placing the units - the outdoor module can be located significantly higher or lower than the indoor one.
Refrigerant pipe diameters for the 8 kW model are Ø1/2" for gas and Ø1/4" for liquid. The maximum pressure of the refrigeration circuit is 42 bar, and the total amount of R32 refrigerant is approximately 1,02 kg.
The patented coaxial heat exchanger ensures stable heat exchange between the refrigeration circuit and the central heating installation, minimizing the risk of limescale buildup and extending the lifespan of the entire system.
