Split system for heating and cooling
The Alfea Extensa S heat pump is a split-type device, in which key components are divided into two modules - internal and external. This design allows the hydraulic unit to be installed in a boiler room or another technical room in the building, where the fan operation will not be a disturbance. The external module is installed on the facade or a foundation - its housing is insulated both acoustically and thermally, which minimizes heat loss and reduces noise emission to the surroundings.
Internal module - built-in hydraulics
The internal unit houses a buffer tank with a capacity of 16 liters, which stabilizes the operation of the entire system and protects the compressor from frequent cycling. Inside the tank, there is a patented coaxial heat exchanger - its design ensures efficient heat transfer to the heating circuit and simultaneously allows for the integration of an electric heater. The module is factory-equipped with a 3 kW heater, which can be expanded to 6 kW - this is particularly useful during extreme frosts or as a peak heat source.
The noise level of the hydraulic module is 40 dB - a level comparable to a quiet conversation, so the device does not disturb the daily lives of residents even when installed close to the living area.
External module - inverter compressor
The external unit contains a fan, compressor, evaporator, and an expansion valve that precisely controls the flow of the R32 refrigerant. The most important element here is the inverter compressor operating in a 10-step VPAM power modulation system - instead of cyclic on/off switching, the device smoothly adjusts its performance to the current demand of the building. This translates to higher thermal comfort and lower energy consumption.
The noise generated by the external unit of a model with a nominal power of 5-6 kW is approximately 41 dB(A) - as quiet as the rustling of leaves in a light breeze.
Operating parameters and efficiency
The Alfea Extensa S series includes four models with capacities ranging from 5 to 10 kW, all single-phase powered (230V). The device operates in a wide range of outdoor temperatures - from -25°C to +35°C - which ensures reliable operation even during harsh Polish winters.
The heating capacity of the 6 kW model is 5.5 kW at an outdoor temperature of +7°C and a flow temperature of +35°C. At a lower outdoor temperature (-7°C), the capacity drops to 4.4 kW, and at a higher flow temperature (+55°C), it reaches 4.5 kW. The COP coefficient for +7°C/+35°C conditions reaches 4.74, meaning that for every 1 kW of electricity consumed, the device delivers over 4.7 kW of heat to the installation.
The R32 refrigerant has a factory charge of 0.97 kg. The maximum working pressure of the refrigerant circuit is 42 bar, and the allowable height difference between modules is 20 meters. For models with a capacity up to 6 kW, the minimum installation length is 3 meters, and the maximum without additional refrigerant charging is 15 meters - for larger distances, the pipeline can be extended to 30 meters by topping up the freon on-site.
The refrigerant pipe diameters are Ø1/2" (gas) / Ø1/4" (liquid) for the smallest models.
Control and system integration
The internal module is factory-equipped with a Navilink thermostat and a Cozytouch WiFi module - no additional bridge or converter needs to be purchased. The Cozytouch application allows for remote management of the heat pump's operation: changing the set temperature, reviewing energy consumption, or setting a work schedule. The control interface is intuitive and user-friendly.
