Surge protection for your installation

The DEHNguard M TNS 275 surge arrester is a key element in protecting the electrical installation from the effects of current surges caused, for example, by lightning strikes. The device is designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail and provides protection in 230 V AC networks. It is a type 2 device, which means it works perfectly as a complement to the protection provided by type 1 arresters installed at the boundary between LPZ 0 and LPZ 1.

Functionality and application

This four-pole arrester is dedicated to TN-S systems, offering effective protection for both phase and neutral conductors. Its task is to dissipate surge energy to ground, protecting connected devices from damage. The arrester is characterized by high performance – it withstands a surge current of 40 kA (8/20 µs), and its rated discharge current is 20 kA. This ensures reliable protection even during strong storms. A built-in optical indicator informs about the device's status – green indicates correct operation, red signals the need for replacement.

Parameters and construction features

The device is made of high-quality materials, guaranteeing its durability and reliability. The maximum cross-section of flexible conductors is 25 mm², and rigid conductors – 35 mm². The arrester has overload protection up to 125 A (fuse), which further increases the safety of the installation. Its compact design (4 modules) allows for easy installation even in tight switchboards. The protection level of 1.5 kV provides effective protection against high surges. Additionally, the device is resistant to temporary overvoltages (TOV) up to 335 V for 5 seconds and fails safely at 440 V for 120 minutes, minimizing the risk of installation failure.
