Surge protector SPCT2-280-3+NPE 167620
Surge protection in electrical installations
The SPCT2-280-3+NPE surge arrester is a key element protecting electrical installations from the effects of lightning strikes and switching surges. The device effectively reduces both direct and indirect discharges, protecting connected devices from damage. This is particularly important in places exposed to frequent voltage changes, such as residential, commercial or industrial buildings.
This 3-phase arrester with a neutral-earth (NPE) conductor finds application in electric vehicle charging stations, battery energy storage systems, photovoltaic inverters on the AC side, heat pumps, and in the case of 3-phase receivers requiring strong but sensitive protection. Mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail ensures easy installation and integration with existing electrical infrastructure.
Characteristics and functionality
The SPCT2-280-3+NPE arrester is characterized by a high level of protection of 1.4 kV and the ability to dissipate discharge currents with a peak value of up to 20 kA (and a maximum of 40 kA). Its construction based on type 2 (T2) technology provides effective protection against indirect surges. A built-in optical status indicator allows for a quick assessment of the device's integrity – a red color indicates the need to replace the insert, and a green color confirms its correct operation. The maximum wire cross-section of up to 25 mm² (solid/stranded) and 35 mm² (flexible) ensures compatibility with various types of wiring. The device is designed to operate in TN, TT, TN-S and IT and TN-C-S networks.
Using the SPCT2-280-3+NPE arrester is not only protection against failures, but also increased reliability and safety of the entire electrical installation. Thanks to the fast response time and high energy absorption capacity, the arrester minimizes the risk of damage to sensitive electronic and electrical devices. Additionally, the lack of an integrated overcurrent protection requires the use of an external protection up to 125 A to ensure full circuit protection.
