Drainage of curbless showers in a modern bathroom
The Geberit CleanLine30 linear drain is a solution designed for walk-in showers - installed flush with the floor, without a traditional shower tray. It features a minimalist, black finish with a fingerprint-resistant coating, allowing it to maintain an aesthetic appearance even with frequent use.
Construction and materials
The drain body is made of CrNiMo 1.4404 steel (compliant with EN 10088) - a grade widely used in applications requiring resistance to corrosion and the action of chemicals present in water and detergents. The drain itself is not intended for industrial flooring - synthetic resins, cement, and similar materials may cause discoloration on the drain surface.
The CleanLine30 model can be shortened within a range of 30-130 cm, which significantly facilitates fitting it to a specific bathroom space. The working width is 4,3 cm, and the installation height is only 0,8 cm - the slim frame does not disrupt the level floor and allows for a smooth transition between the shower zone and the rest of the bathroom.
Installation and adjustment
The drain is adapted for ceramic tiles with a thickness of 8-35 mm. During installation, three parameters can be adjusted:
- height - compensation for differences in substrate level,
- slope - precise setting of the gradient towards the drain,
- offset - adjustment of the position relative to the wall or the room axis.
The scope of delivery includes a comb insert (filtering element), an inlet with a compensation ring, and a sealing sleeve. Access to the comb insert does not require tools - simply lift the cover plate to clean the element of debris.
Installation kits (to be ordered separately) allow for adjusting the screed layer height to existing construction conditions - variants are offered for thicknesses of 65-90 mm and 90-220 mm, as well as a version enabling passage through the ceiling.
Operating parameters and quality standard
The product has been tested according to the EN 1253-3 standard, which defines requirements for floor drains in terms of tightness, load capacity, and durability. The load class K3 (3 kN) indicates suitability for domestic areas and light commercial applications - it withstands pressure typical for daily use by adults.
The drain is installed centrally on the shower floor or directly against the wall - both configurations ensure effective water drainage and are compatible with the concept of barrier-free construction.
