Shower drain for walk-in showers - minimalist design and functionality
Geberit CleanLine30 in black is a linear drain designed for modern bathrooms with walk-in showers. It features a slim profile with a width of only 4.3 cm, making it almost blend into the floor - especially when installed against a wall or in the middle of the shower area. The black finish further emphasizes its minimalist character and effectively masks any dirt.
The product is made of CrNiMo 1.4404 steel compliant with the EN 10088 standard - this is an austenitic stainless steel with increased corrosion resistance, which performs well in the humid bathroom environment. The black version also features a fingerprint-resistant coating, which significantly facilitates maintaining an aesthetic appearance - especially in areas prone to frequent hand contact.
Adjustment and adaptation to site conditions
The drain can be shortened within a range of 30-160 cm, allowing its length to be precisely matched to the dimensions of a specific shower area without the need to order unusual sizes. Adjustment of height, slope, and offset allows for compensation of screed dimensional tolerances - the installer does not need to pour the floor perfectly at an angle, as the drain will adjust to it itself.
The model is intended for ceramic tiles with a thickness of 8-35 mm. For thicker coverings (e.g., natural stone), the manufacturer recommends exercising caution - discoloration may occur in the shower area.
Installation and system compatibility
CleanLine30 is suitable for installation both in the middle of the shower and directly against the wall - this flexibility gives designers and contractors freedom when arranging sanitary spaces. The product is adapted for barrier-free construction, which means compliance with accessibility requirements for people with limited mobility.
The scope of delivery includes a comb strainer (filtering out impurities), a connection socket with a leveling ring, and a rubber seal. Importantly for later operation - you can access the comb strainer without using tools; simply lift the cover.
Geberit mounting kits adapted to different screed heights at the inlet are available to order separately: 65-90 mm and 90-220 mm. The offer is supplemented by an inter-floor kit (for passages between floors) and a kit with an inlet allowing, for example, a shower mixer to be connected directly to the drain.
Durability and ease of maintenance
The load class K3 (3 kN) means that the drain can handle standard domestic use - people entering and leaving the shower area do not pose a problem for it. Production is subject to quality control according to the EN 1253-3 standard, which specifies requirements for drainage devices in buildings.
Cleaning consists of regularly rinsing the comb strainer under running water - the lack of complex mechanisms and smooth surfaces minimize the risk of limescale or soap residue buildup.
