Drains

Every shower cabin requires a thoughtful approach to drainage. When choosing a modern shower cabin without a shower tray, there are two main solutions to choose from. Water drainage can be provided by a linear drain or a point drain. In the assortment of the Onninen plumbing wholesaler, you will find both linear shower drains and point drains. See the products available in the offer (and there are several hundred of them!), and then choose a shower drain adapted to the technical conditions of the bathroom and to your personal preferences.
Linear floor drains
A linear shower drain (also known as a linear drain or shower gutter) provides effective drainage of water from the shower cubicle in an extremely stylish and discreet manner. The visible, horizontal grate, mounted on the same line as the tiles, plays not only a functional role, but also a decorative one. There is a wide range of designs and cover lengths to choose from, which allows for easy adjustment of the linear drain to individual needs and the arrangement of the shower area. It is best to plan the installation of a linear drain in the bathroom at the design stage of the house or before a general renovation of the room.
Linear wall drains
In addition to the popular linear floor drains, there are also wall linear drains. A wall linear drain does not require interference with the floor or creating such a large slope as in the case of the floor version. In addition, it creates unlimited possibilities in terms of floor finishing and provides an extremely elegant visual effect. This is a good solution when it is not possible to install a linear floor drain (the drain + siphon require an appropriate amount of space in the floor, which can be a problem especially in so-called old buildings).
What to look for when choosing a linear drain?
When choosing a linear drain, you should pay special attention to the capacity of the given model. The higher the capacity of the siphon, the faster the water is drained into the sewage system, which minimizes the risk of flooding the bathroom floor while taking a shower. The method of cleaning is also important. Most linear drains available on the market provide convenient cleaning of the siphon from above. The cover can be quickly removed to thoroughly wash the gutter and empty the siphon of dirt. Of course, durability is key. The drain elements should be resistant to water, organic acids and nitrogen compounds.
Point drains
Point shower drains (also known as bathroom, floor or shower tray drains) are traditional drainage systems that have been used for a very long time. Their main advantage is their versatility. They can be installed not only in the shower, but in any place in the bathroom (and outside it) where there is a need to drain water from the floor.
