HDPE spigot socket – a reliable connection in drainage systems

This socket with a double seal, made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), is a key element of the Geberit drainage systems. Designed for connecting 200 mm diameter pipes, it provides a durable and tight connection, resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage. Its double seal design guarantees the stability and safety of the installation, minimizing the risk of leaks.

This socket is ideal for both professional installers and end customers who value quality and reliability. Made of PE-80 material, it is characterized by high tensile strength and resistance to many chemical substances. Application and material properties

The Geberit HDPE system is distinguished by its exceptional versatility. It can be used in:

The polyethylene (PE) used to produce the socket is resistant to approximately 95% of standard alkalis, acids and chemicals. In addition, this material is UV resistant, allowing the pipes to be stored outdoors for longer without losing their properties. This is particularly important for larger investments where system components may be stored before installation.

Design and installation

The socket has spigots designed for welding/butt fusion, ensuring a durable and tight connection. Installation requires the use of appropriate machines and tools for butt fusion or the use of electrofusion sleeves. This ensures that the connection is not only strong but also resistant to shocks and temperature changes. The wall thickness of the connection is 7.7 mm, providing adequate mechanical strength. The working length of the connection is 60 mm on the first side and 41 mm on the second side of the socket. The outer diameter of the connecting pipe is 200 mm on both sides of the socket.
