Overcurrent circuit breaker, 6kA, B characteristic, 1-pole, 63A MBN163E
Hager MBN series overcurrent circuit breaker is a reliable protection for electrical installations, designed for both professional installers and end-users. Model MBN163E, single-pole with a rated current of 63A, is characterized by high effectiveness in protecting against overloads and short circuits. Its compact size and flush-mounting capability make it ideal for modern installations.
Characteristics and application
The MBN163E circuit breaker has a B characteristic, which means it reacts quickly to an increase in short-circuit current, but is more tolerant to short-term current surges than circuit breakers with a C characteristic. This makes it particularly recommended for protecting lighting circuits, socket outlets and electronic devices. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity Icn is 6kA at 230V, and Icu 10kA at 230V according to IEC 60947-2 – this ensures effective protection of the installation in the event of a failure.
Construction and product features
The circuit breaker is based on solid materials, which guarantees its durability and reliability. The width of the device is only 1 module (17.5 mm), which allows for optimal use of space in the distribution board. The cross-section of the connectable solid wire is from 1 to 35 mm², and stranded wire from 1 to 25 mm², which provides flexibility when selecting cables. The degree of protection IP20 provides basic protection against touch and contamination. The circuit breaker operates in the frequency range of 50-60 Hz and is adapted to work in temperatures from -25°C to +70°C.
Additional features distinguishing Hager circuit breakers:
- Innovative vertical comb busbars: Enable a quick and safe way to connect devices in the distribution board.
- Labeling field with flap: Provides clear and aesthetic labeling of devices.
- IP2x touch protection: Increases safety of use, even when using phase busbars.
- Contact position and release indicators: Facilitate fault diagnosis and identification of the cause of the circuit breaker tripping.
- Double mounting clips: Allow removal/replacement of the device without the need to unscrew neighboring devices (for 10 kA versions).
