Robust cable for cable chains – reliability in harsh conditions

This specialized cable chain cable, designated MULTIFLEX 512-C-PUR UL/CSA, is designed for operation in demanding industrial environments. It is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage, making it an ideal solution for applications in moving parts of machines and equipment. This cable is shielded, which minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal transmission. Additionally, made of halogen-free materials, it increases safety in case of fire.

Construction and properties

The cable is constructed of seven copper conductors with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², which provide adequate conductivity and flexibility. The conductors are insulated with special PP (polypropylene) and marked with numbers for easy identification. A protective braid and a copper wire braid effectively protect against external interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, resistant to abrasion, oils and other chemicals. This ensures that the cable retains its properties even with intensive use and in difficult environmental conditions. The use of non-woven fabric further protects the conductors from damage.

Applications and standards

This cable is widely used in machines, machine tools, robotics and other automated devices where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. It is particularly recommended for installation in cable chains, where the cable is exposed to continuous bending and movement. It meets UL/CSA standards and has a certificate of conformity with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. Designed for a rated voltage of 600V and a test voltage of 3000V. Permissible operating temperature is from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -30°C to +80°C during installation. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 17.4 mm.
