Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This orange HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable is a specialized solution for use in chain guides, designed for operation in harsh industrial and marine environments. The cable is characterized by high flexibility, resistance to external factors, and compliance with safety standards. The use of halogen-free materials increases safety in the event of a fire.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, based on a copper conductor with a cross-section of 25 mm², which ensures efficient current conduction. The conductor is stranded (class 6), which guarantees high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending in chain guides. The conductor insulation is made of a material other than standard PVC, which affects its specific properties. The whole is surrounded by a polyurethane outer jacket (PUR), which provides resistance to abrasion, oils, UV radiation, and low and high temperatures. The lack of a common screen means that the cable is intended for applications where there are no strong electromagnetic interference.
This cable has been tested and certified according to UL standards (1000 V) and meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). Additionally, it has flame-retardant and halogen-free properties, which increase safety. Its radiation resistance of up to 100x10⁶ cJ/kg (100 Mrad) makes it an ideal choice for environments exposed to ionizing radiation.
Applications and benefits
This cable is used primarily in:
- Industrial machines and equipment: especially where there is continuous movement and the need to route cables in chain guides.
- Marine applications: thanks to its high resistance to weather conditions, oils, and UV radiation.
- Ports and terminals: where cables are exposed to mechanical damage and corrosive agents.
- Industrial automation: as an element of control and power supply systems for devices.
By choosing this cable, you gain:
- High reliability: thanks to the solid construction and use of high-quality materials.
- Long service life: resistance to external factors ensures long-term operation even in difficult conditions.
- Safety: flame-retardant and halogen-free properties minimize the risk of fire and the emission of toxic gases.
- Flexibility: stranded conductor facilitates cable routing in tight spaces and dynamic applications.
- Compliance with standards: meeting the requirements of UL and other standards ensures safety and compliance with regulations.
