Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This orange HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable, designed for chain guides, is the ideal solution for installations exposed to intense movements and harsh environmental conditions. Its construction and materials guarantee long-lasting and safe operation in industrial applications, as well as in the marine sector. The cable is distinguished by its high resistance to external factors, including oils, UV radiation and low temperatures.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a single core with a cross-section of 6 mm², made of stranded copper (class 6). The core is insulated with a special material, providing flexibility and mechanical strength. A durable outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, chemicals and mechanical damage. The lack of a common screen makes the cable more flexible and easier to install. In addition, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire and minimizes the emission of toxic gases. The use of special core insulation and a screen of tinned copper wires (optionally aluminum and foil under the braid) ensures high signal quality and protection against electromagnetic interference.
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in:
- Machines and industrial equipment: ideal for powering moving elements, such as robots, conveyors or CNC machines.
- Marine applications: meets strict industry standards and ensures reliable operation in the harsh conditions prevailing at sea.
- Shipbuilding industry: resistance to atmospheric factors, oils and UV radiation makes it an excellent choice for applications in shipyards.
- Automation systems: high flexibility makes it easier to route cables in tight spaces and dynamic applications.
- Power industry: thanks to the nominal voltage of UL 1000 V, it can be used in power installations.
It is worth noting its resistance to radiation up to 100x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad), which makes it suitable for applications exposed to ionizing radiation. The cable retains its properties in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary), and the minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter – which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. Compliance with CE standards guarantees compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
