Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This specialized HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable, designed for chain guides, is distinguished by its exceptional durability and resistance to external factors. Designed to operate in harsh industrial conditions, as well as in specific marine applications, it provides safe and uninterrupted power supply. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to oils, UV radiation and extreme temperatures.
Construction and properties
The cable has a single core with a cross-section of 70 mm², made of stranded copper (class 6), which ensures high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during dynamic movements. The core insulation is made of a special material, and the whole is surrounded by a durable outer coating made of polyurethane (PUR) in orange color (RAL 2003). The use of polyurethane guarantees resistance to abrasion, tearing and the action of aggressive chemicals. The lack of a common screen makes the cable more flexible and easier to install.
The cable meets stringent safety standards, including fire resistance tests (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2/ IEC 60332-1) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482 part 267/ DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1). Additionally, it is resistant to oils (IEC 60092-350, Annex F) and low temperatures (IEC 60092-350, Annex E). The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting.
Applications and benefits
This cable is primarily used in chain guide systems, where it is exposed to continuous bending and movement. It is ideal for applications requiring high reliability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions – both in the marine industry and in other industrial sectors.
- Mechanical strength: The construction with class 6 stranded copper wire ensures high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue.
- Chemical resistance: The polyurethane coating protects against the action of oils, lubricants and other aggressive chemicals.
- Safety: Compliance with fire resistance and halogen-free standards minimizes the risk of fire and emission of toxic gases.
- Versatility: The cable is suitable for use in a wide range of temperatures – from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
- Weather resistance: Ensures reliable operation even in harsh external conditions thanks to resistance to UV radiation and ozone.
- Compliance with standards: The product meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35 / EU (CE marking).
