Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This orange HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 1G95/AWG3/0 cable is designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially in applications with chain guides. It is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an ideal choice for both installers and end-users. The cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
Construction and properties
The cable has a single copper core with a cross-section of 95 mm², made of stranded wire class 6 (very flexible) according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards. The core insulation is made of a special material, providing high mechanical and chemical resistance. In addition, the cable has a screen of tinned copper wires (coverage approx. 85%), which minimizes electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer coating made of polyurethane, resistant to oils, UV radiation and weather conditions. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 18.8 mm.
Applications and benefits
This cable is primarily used in chain guide systems, where high flexibility and resistance to repeated bending are required. Thanks to the use of special insulation and outer coating, the SHIPFLEX® 512 cable performs perfectly in harsh industrial conditions - even in the presence of oils and aggressive chemicals. It meets strict safety standards, including halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1) and fire resistance (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1). This is particularly important in marine applications and in the shipbuilding industry, where the cable was originally developed and tested. The cable retains its properties in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary) and during installation (min. -25°C). The nominal UL voltage is 1000 V and the insulation resistance is min. 100 MOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is only 7.5 x cable diameter, which facilitates assembly even in tight spaces.
