Cable for chain guides, 1000 V UL shipflex 109 1x120/AWG4/0 orange, halogen-free 21396

Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions

This orange HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable is a specialized solution for use in chain guides, designed for operation in harsh industrial and marine environments. It is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, ensuring long-lasting and safe operation of the installation. The cable is made of high-quality materials, guaranteeing its reliability even with intensive use.

Construction and properties

The cable has a single copper core with a cross-section of 120 mm², which corresponds to approximately AWG 4/0. The core is made of unannealed copper, twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 cl.6, BS 6360 cl.6 and IEC 60228 cl.6 standards. The core insulation is made of a special material, and the whole is covered with a polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket in orange color (RAL 2003), compliant with UL std. 1581 Tab. 50227. The lack of a common screen makes this cable suitable for applications where the absence of electromagnetic interference is not a problem or is minimized by other methods.

It is worth noting a number of important properties of this cable:

  • Resistance to extreme temperatures: The cable retains its properties in the range of -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
  • Halogen-free: Complies with DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 standards, which increases fire safety.
  • Oil resistance: Compliant with IEC 60092-350, Annex F, making it ideal for use in industrial environments exposed to oil contact.
  • UV resistance: Ensures long-term operation even outdoors.
  • Flame retardancy: Meets DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B) standards.
  • Mechanical strength: Designed for operation in chain guides, it is characterized by high resistance to bending and abrasion.

Applications and compliance with standards

The SHIPFLEX® 109 cable is primarily designed for use in chain guide systems, but due to its properties it also finds application in other demanding industrial and marine applications. This is particularly important in situations where high reliability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions are required. It meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. The insulation resistance is min. 100 MOhm x km and the coupling resistance max. 250 Ohm/km, ensuring stable operation of the electrical system.
