Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This orange HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable is a specialized solution for use in chain guides, designed for operation in harsh industrial and marine environments. Its construction and materials guarantee high flexibility, resistance to external factors and safe use. The cable is designed to operate at 1000V and has UL certification, confirming its compliance with strict standards.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a single core with a cross-section of 95 mm², made of stranded copper (class 6). The core is surrounded by a special insulation, and the whole is protected by a polyurethane outer coating, providing resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. The lack of a common screen makes this cable ideal for applications where there is no need for protection against electromagnetic interference. It is worth noting the non-halogenated materials used in production – in the event of a fire, this limits the emission of toxic gases.
Additional features affecting durability and safety:
- Flexibility: The twisted strand construction provides high flexibility, making it easy to lay in dynamic applications such as robotics or construction machinery.
- Chemical resistance: The polyurethane outer coating is resistant to the action of oils, lubricants and many chemicals.
- Mechanical strength: The cable is designed to operate in harsh mechanical conditions, such as bending, twisting and friction.
- Safety: The non-halogenated coating minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109 cable is primarily used in:
- Industrial machines and equipment with chain guides.
- Marine applications – meets stringent standards for resistance to weather conditions and chemicals found in the marine environment.
- Robotics – thanks to its high flexibility, it is ideal for powering moving robot elements.
- Material transport systems – e.g. conveyor belts.
The cable meets the following standards:
- DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flame retardancy)
- DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free)
- IEC 60092-350 (oil resistance)
- IEC 60092-350 (behavior at low temperatures)
- Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE)
