Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This specialized HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109-C cable is designed to operate in harsh conditions requiring high flexibility, resistance to external factors and safety. It is an ideal solution for both installers working on complex systems and end-users expecting reliable power in demanding applications. The cable is distinguished by its high quality workmanship and meets stringent safety standards.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a single core with a cross-section of 150 mm², made of stranded copper, which ensures high flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. The core is insulated with a special material, and the entire cable has a copper braid screen that minimizes electromagnetic interference. A durable outer coating made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils, UV radiation and extreme temperatures. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
- Flexibility: Class 6 stranded construction provides exceptional flexibility, making it easy to route in tight spaces and dynamic applications.
- Resistance: Polyurethane outer jacket protects against the influence of oils, chemicals, UV radiation and extreme temperatures (from -40°C to +80°C).
- Safety: Halogen-free construction minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- Shielding: Copper braid effectively reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Durability: The cable is resistant to radiation up to 100x106 cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad), which guarantees long-term operation even in harsh conditions.
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX 109-C cable is primarily used in chain guide (cable carrier) systems, but also in other industrial applications where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. It is particularly recommended for marine applications and in environments exposed to oils and chemicals. It meets UL Style 20234 standard and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
- Marine industry: The special construction of the cable makes it perfect for the harsh conditions prevailing at sea.
- Industrial automation: Ideal for powering devices in chain guide systems.
- Robotics: Provides a reliable electrical connection in moving robot elements.
- Construction and agricultural machinery: Resistant to mechanical damage and atmospheric factors.
- Applications requiring high chemical resistance: Safe in environments exposed to oils and chemicals.
It is also worth mentioning its resistance to low temperatures (down to -40°C) and compliance with standards regarding behavior at low temperatures (IEC 60092-350). The materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance-free.
