Halogen-free control and power cable – reliability and safety of installation

This flexible control cable, designated JB-750 HMH 5G1.5, is designed for demanding industrial applications and electrical installations. Construction and properties

The JB-750 HMH 5G1.5 cable consists of five copper conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², which provide optimal conductivity. These conductors are insulated with halogen-free PVC (TI6), which minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire – important for the safety of people and the protection of the environment. Colored conductors facilitate identification during installation and subsequent maintenance. The whole is surrounded by a gray outer coating made of TM7 mixture, resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 9.6 mm.

The cable meets the stringent standards DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51/DIN EN 50525-2-51 and DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11/DIN EN 50525-3-11, which guarantees its high quality and compliance with European safety standards. Therefore, it can be used in a wide range of applications, including machines, conveyor belts, production lines, air conditioning equipment, and steel mills.

Application and operating parameters

The JB-750 HMH 5G1.5 cable is intended for use in dry, damp and wet environments, both indoors (surface installations) and outdoors. It can be used in flexible and stationary installations – however, it should be remembered that it is not designed for operation under constant mechanical stress or with frequent movements.

Key operating parameters include a rated voltage of 750 V and a temperature range of -15°C to +70°C for flexible applications and from -40°C to +70°C for stationary installations. The minimum bending radius is approximately 12.5 x cable diameter for flexible applications and approx. 4 x diameter for fixed installations. The cable is also resistant to radiation up to 100 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad). The conductors are made of flexible stranded copper class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295. It meets the requirements for fire resistance IEC 60332-1-2 and DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 (self-extinguishing and non-flammable) and the halogen-free standard DIN VDE 0482 part 267/DIN EN 50267-2-1/IEC 60754-1 – minimizing the emission of toxic gases during combustion.
