Data cable without halogen – reliability and safety
This shielded DATAFLAMM®-C 2x0.34 mm² halogen-free cable is designed for demanding data transmission applications. It is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users who value safety, reliability, and compliance with the latest standards. This cable is used in signaling, measurement, control, telecommunications, alarm systems, and office equipment. The ability to install it concealed and surface-mounted in dry, wet, and humid environments, as well as in masonry and concrete, makes it extremely versatile.
Construction and properties
The DATAFLAMM®-C cable stands out with its careful construction ensuring high-quality signal transmission. It is made of multi-wire copper conductors (class 5), insulated with polyethylene (PE), twisted in pairs, and wrapped with a polyester film (PETP). A braid of tinned copper wires effectively shields against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in environments with high noise levels. The whole is surrounded by a halogen-free outer jacket made of PVC, ensuring safety in case of fire – it limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke. The cable has a cross-section of 2 x 0.34 mm² and an outer diameter of approximately 4.8 mm.
Applications and benefits
- Safety: The halogen-free coating minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation during a fire, which is particularly important in public buildings, laboratories, and warehouses.
- Reliable transmission: The shield of tinned copper wires provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference, guaranteeing a stable signal.
- Versatility: The possibility of use in dry, wet, and humid rooms, as well as in masonry and concrete, expands the range of potential applications.
- Flexibility: The flexible construction of the conductors facilitates installation and routing of cables even in difficult conditions.
- Compliance with standards: The cable meets the requirements of standards regarding halogen-free materials (VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1, IEC 60754-1) and resistance to corrosive fire gases (VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-2).
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in a temperature range from -40°C to +70°C (after installation) and from +5°C to +70°C during installation.
- Conductor identification: Colored conductors according to DIN 47100 facilitate identification during installation.
Thanks to these features, the DATAFLAMM®-C cable is an optimal solution for a wide range of applications requiring safe and reliable data transmission.
