Power cable for inverters – reliability and protection
This shielded PVC cable, known as TOPFLEX® 600-C-PVC, is a robust solution for connecting inverters, servomotors and DNC controllers. The cable is designed for both fixed and flexible installations, making it a versatile choice for professionals and end users. It is suitable for dry, damp and wet rooms.
Construction and parameters ensuring performance
The cable stands out with a construction adapted to the specific requirements of applications in motion control electronics. It has multi-wire copper conductors of class 5 (according to DIN VDE 0295), which ensures flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during frequent bending. PVC insulation guarantees good electrical protection, and black conductors with white numbering make it easier to identify individual wires. A key element is the copper braid screen, which minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC) – important in precise control systems. The braid provides approx. 85% coverage, which translates to high shielding effectiveness.
Additionally, the outer PVC coating is oil-resistant and ensures durability in harsh working conditions. The cable is metered for convenient dispensing and minimizing waste.
Scope of application and compliance with standards
The TOPFLEX® 600-C-PVC cable is ideal as a power connection:
- Electronically controlled servomotors
- Frequency inverters
- DNC motors
It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0293 and DIN VDE 0295 standards, which guarantees safety and reliability. Designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (fixed installation) and from -15°C to +80°C (flexible installation). The rated voltage is 1000 V. The minimum bending radius is approx. 7.5 x cable diameter for flexible installation and 4 x cable diameter for fixed installation.
For optimal EMC properties, it is recommended to ensure large contact of the copper braid with the terminals (e.g. using cable glands).
