Highly durable power cable NYCY 2x4/4 – a reliable cable for various applications

This 1kV power cable, designated NYCY 2x4/4, is a solid solution for power transmission in demanding conditions. The RE type cable, made of high-quality materials, ensures the safety and durability of the electrical installation. It is a versatile cable suitable for both industry and residential construction.

Construction and application

The NYCY 2x4/4 cable consists of two copper conductors with a cross-section of 4 mm², insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The conductors are twisted concentrically, which increases flexibility and facilitates installation. Additionally, the cable has an outer sheath of PVC, providing protection against mechanical damage and the influence of atmospheric factors. The concentric conductor can function as a protective (PE) or PEN conductor, as well as a screen.

Parameters and properties

The NYCY 2x4/4 cable is characterized by high resistance to atmospheric and mechanical conditions. It can be operated in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +70°C (stationary) and from -5°C to +50°C (flexible). The rated voltage of the cable is 1000 kV (600 kV U0), and the maximum permissible conductor temperature is 70°C. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 15.5 mm. The materials used in production are free of silicone and cadmium, and substances that interfere with painting. The cable meets the standards DIN VDE 0276 part 603, HD 603 S1 and IEC 60502. It also has VDE approval and a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU. The conductors are made of unannealed copper class 1 (stranded). The color of the sheath and insulation is black.
