Power cable NYCY 4x1.5/1.5 – a reliable cable for various applications

This 1kV NYCY power cable with four 1.5 mm² conductors is a versatile solution for both professional installers and end users. This RE-marked cable is characterized by a solid construction and high-quality workmanship, guaranteeing safe and efficient power transmission in various conditions. It is designed for a wide range of applications – from industrial installations to domestic electrical connections.

Construction and properties

The NYCY cable stands out with its carefully selected materials and precise construction. Solid, un-tinned copper conductors provide good electrical conductivity. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) insulation effectively protects against short circuits and mechanical damage. Concentrically twisted conductors minimize the risk of electromagnetic interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer PVC coating, resistant to weathering and mechanical damage. A concentric conductor embedded in the construction can function as a protective (PE) or PEN conductor, as well as a screen.

It is worth noting the operating temperature range of this cable – from -40°C to +70°C in stationary mode and from -5°C to +50°C during installation. The maximum permissible conductor temperature is 70°C, and the short-term operating temperature can reach up to 160°C (for 5 seconds). This ensures that the cable retains its properties even in harsh operating conditions.

It also has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances that interfere with painting. The PVC coating is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant (tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1).
