Single-core FEP wire for extreme applications
This high-quality single-core wire with fluoropolymer FEP insulation (HELUFLON®) is designed to operate in demanding conditions where standard wires fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemicals and radiation, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of industrial and specialized applications. This wire is particularly valued in the installation and construction of switchgear cabinets, furnaces, brickworks and in the chemical industry.
### Construction and properties
The HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y wire has a tinned copper core, providing good conductivity and corrosion resistance. The FEP fluoropolymer insulation guarantees reliable protection against external factors and maintains electrical properties over a wide temperature range – from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). The flexible wire construction makes installation easier even in tight spaces.
* **Temperature resistance:** The wire retains its properties at extreme temperatures, which is crucial for applications in furnaces, heating devices and other high-temperature installations.
* **Chemical resistance:** FEP insulation is completely resistant to flames, alkalis, acids, food, oils and gasoline – ideal for chemical environments.
* **High insulation:** Provides minimal dielectric loss and high insulation resistance (minimum 2 GOhm/km), guaranteeing safe and efficient energy transmission.
* **Radiation resistance:** The wire is resistant to radiation up to 1 x 106 cJ/kg (up to 1 Mrad), making it suitable for applications in industries exposed to radiation.
* **Safety:** Materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting. The wire is non-flammable and self-extinguishing (tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2, IEC 60332-1).
