Single-core rubber cable NSHXAFÖ – high short-circuit resistance
This specialized rubber cable, manufactured according to DIN VDE 0250 part 606, is characterized by exceptional resistance to short-circuit loads, making it an ideal choice for busbar feed systems. The cable construction provides high resistance to short-circuit and earth fault currents in power and connection installations. The cable is intended for installation in dry environments.
Construction and properties
The NSHXAFÖ cable features a solid construction designed for reliability and safety. The copper conductor, made of stranded wire (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228), provides good flexibility and conductivity. The inner insulation is made of 3GI3 EPR (ethylene-propylene rubber), and the outer jacket is made of halogen-free HM3 polymer, which increases safety in the event of a fire. The cable is black and has a cross-section of 240 mm². The weight of one meter of cable is 2.65 kg, and the outer diameter is 27.1 mm.
Additional advantages include:
- Halogen-free: materials used in production do not release toxic gases during combustion, increasing the safety of users and installations. Meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire behavior.
- Short-circuit resistance: designed for operation in systems up to 1 kV, but exhibits exceptional resistance to short-circuit loads in busbar feed systems.
- Wide temperature range: flexible operation from -25°C to +70°C and stationary from -40°C to +90°C allows use in various environmental conditions. Maximum conductor temperature during operation is +90°C.
- Compliance with standards: the cable has passed tests for corrosivity of fire gases (DIN VDE 0482 part 267, DIN EN 50267-2-2, IEC 60754-2), smoke density (DIN VDE 0482 part 1034-1+2, DIN EN 61034-1+2, IEC 61034-1+2) and oil resistance (DIN VDE 0473-811-404, DIN EN 60811-404). It also has a fire resistance certificate (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-2-1).
- Working voltage: Uo/U – 1.8/3 kV; maximum permissible operating voltage for alternating current Uo/U – 2.1/3.6 kV; for direct current Uo/U – 2.7/5.4 kV; test voltage is 6 kV.
Application
The NSHXAFÖ cable is primarily used in:
- Busbar feed systems
- Power and connection installations requiring high short-circuit resistance
- Dry industrial and commercial environments
- Where halogen-free materials are required for fire safety.
The minimum bending radius for flexible operation is 10 x cable diameter and for stationary operation – 6 x cable diameter.
