Single-core silicone cable resistant to high temperatures SiD 1x2.5 mm² red 46702
High-temperature silicone cable – reliability in extreme conditions
This single silicone cable is designed to operate in demanding environments where standard cabling fails. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high temperatures and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users who need a reliable solution. This cable finds application in the metallurgical, aerospace, cement, glass, and ceramic industries, as well as in power plants – where high thermal resistance and the absence of toxic gas emissions during a fire are required.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of a single-wire copper conductor (class 1), insulated with silicone. The outer diameter of the cable with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² is approximately 3.4 mm. This ensures not only good flexibility but also mechanical strength. The rated voltage of the cable is 300/500 V, and the test voltage is 2000 V, which guarantees safe use. Additionally, the cable is characterized by high radiation resistance (up to 20 x 10⁶ cJ/kg) and resistance to oils, greases, alcohols, diluted acids, and bases.
The SiD cable meets the DIN VDE 0250 part 1 and 502 standards and has an allowable operating temperature of up to +180°C (short-term up to +220°C). It is also resistant to weathering and water. The cable construction provides a minimum bending radius of 15 x its outer diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. The wire is available in red color (color designation: 02).
Applications and benefits
- Industry: Ideal for use in steelworks, cement plants, glass and ceramic factories due to its high thermal and chemical resistance.
- Aerospace: Performs well in applications requiring flexibility and resistance to extreme temperatures.
- Power plants: Halogen-free construction makes it safe to use in environments with increased fire safety requirements.
- Fixed installations: Recommended for laying in open and ventilated places – although silicone gradually changes its properties above +90°C, it ensures long-term reliability under appropriate conditions.
- Versatility: Suitable for powering devices requiring high temperature stability and where exposure to aggressive chemicals occurs.
- Safety: It has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU and meets the standards for corrosion resistance to fire gases (DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-2) and self-extinguishing (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2).
