Single-core halogen-free cable, resistant to high temperatures
This HELUTHERM® 145 halogen-free single-core cable is designed for safety and reliability in demanding applications. It features high temperature resistance and flame-retardant properties, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users concerned about safety. This cable is used in the wiring of lighting fixtures, heating devices, electrical machines, and in the construction of surface, concealed and in-wall installations.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of tinned multi-wire copper conductors (class 5), providing flexibility and ease of installation. The cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation guarantees high resistance to mechanical damage, oils and weathering. Electronic crosslinking of the insulation increases its resistance to soldering temperatures (up to 380°C) and also allows for potential reduction of the conductor cross-section while maintaining its parameters. A key feature is the absence of halogen in the insulation composition – in the event of a fire, it does not release toxic gases and fumes, significantly increasing evacuation safety. Additionally, the cable is characterized by reduced flammability and limited flame propagation, confirmed by numerous tests and certificates (DIN VDE, BS, IEC).
Operating parameters and scope of application
The HELUTHERM® 145 cable is designed to operate in a temperature range from -35°C to +120°C (flexible) and from -55°C to +145°C (stationary). The rated voltage is 300/500 V or 450/750 V (when laid in protective conduits), and even up to 600/1000 V in some configurations. The conductor cross-section is 70 mm², and its approximate outer diameter is 15 mm. The minimum bending radius is 12.5 x cable diameter for flexible laying and 4 x cable diameter for stationary laying. Thanks to these parameters, the cable performs perfectly in installations requiring high reliability and fire safety. Use in rail vehicles allows operation at DC voltage up to 900V.
