Magnetic filter IFM 80/K flanged IFM-80/K

Magnetic filter – protection of installations and devices

The IFM 80/K magnetic filter is a reliable solution for cleaning water from ferromagnetic contaminants, such as corrosion products and sediment. Its two-stage filtration system – mechanical and magnetic – provides effective protection for the pump, control and measuring fittings, regulating valves and other elements of the central heating and domestic hot water installation. This is crucial for maintaining system efficiency and reducing repair costs.

Construction and operating principle

The IFM 80/K filter uses both mechanical and magnetic forces to capture contaminants. Water flowing through the filter is first directed to the area of influence of the magnetic field, generated by the ferrite magnet system. This field attracts ferromagnetic particles, and a stronger field in the so-called magnetic traps captures fine magnetic sludge. Non-magnetic contaminants are retained on a filter mesh made of stainless steel with a density of 100 to 600 meshes/cm². The filter design allows for an effective division of the working area into a dipole moment induction zone and a magnetic trapping zone, which increases its effectiveness. The body and cover are made of Zł 250 cast iron or Zs 50007 spheroidal graphite cast iron, ensuring strength and corrosion resistance.

Installation and operation – simple solutions for professionals and users

Installation of the IFM 80/K filter is simple and intuitive. It should be mounted on the pipeline in accordance with the direction of water flow indicated by the arrow on the housing, with the cover at the bottom. The filter can be installed on both horizontal and vertical pipelines. After commissioning, the filter does not require frequent maintenance – periodic cleaning of the mesh and magnetic inserts is sufficient. Cleaning involves unscrewing the cover, removing the inserts and removing the accumulated contaminants. The mesh insert should be cleaned mechanically and rinsed with water, checking its technical condition and seals. The magnetic insert is cleaned with a brush under a stream of water, avoiding disassembly of individual elements. Regular cleaning ensures optimal filter performance and extends its service life.

  • Using the filter before pumps prevents damage caused by contaminants.
  • Protection of control and measuring fittings and regulating valves ensures accurate measurements and stable system operation.
  • Installation before magnetizers protects the magnetic stack from ferromagnetic deposits, maintaining their efficiency.
  • Water filtration improves the comfort of using the heating system and reduces operating costs related to repairs and replacement of damaged elements.
