Grid-inertial sludge separators – protection of heating and industrial installations

The IOW-32/M grid-inertial sludge separator is a device designed for effective removal of solid impurities from water or liquids in heating, district heating, cooling, water supply and industrial installations. Its operation translates into lower operating, repair and maintenance costs of the entire system, as well as individual devices. Construction and operating principle

The device uses centrifugal force and grid filtration to capture impurities with a diameter of more than 0.1 mm. Water entering the sludge separator creates a swirling motion, causing heavier particles to settle on the walls of the tank. Then it flows through a grid insert with a density of 196 meshes/cm², where smaller impurities are retained. In the magnetic version (IOW-32/M) there is an additional stage – magnetic filtration, capturing ferromagnetic particles. The design of the sludge separator ensures effective collection of impurities in the bottom of the tank, allowing for their easy removal through the drain connection.

Technical characteristics

The IOW-32/M sludge separator is made of 18G2A steel (or alternatively hot-dip galvanized or anti-corrosion painted). It is available in a version with welding spigots or with PN16 type 018 flanges. The device is characterized by a maximum working pressure of 1.6 MPa and a working temperature of up to 150°C. The tank capacity is 5 liters, and the device weight is 13 kg. The connection diameter is 32 mm (1 1/4 inch). The nameplate contains all the necessary information regarding type, medium, temperature, pressure, weight and the device's serial number.
