The IOW-50/M mesh-inertial dirt separator is a device designed for effective removal of solid impurities from water or liquids in heating, district heating, cooling, water supply and industrial installations. Its operation translates into lower operating, repair and maintenance costs for both the entire installation and individual components. The dirt separator effectively captures particles with a diameter of more than 0.1 mm, protecting pumps, valves and other sensitive components from damage.
IOW-type dirt separators are recommended for use in heat nodes - both on the network water supply and on the return from central heating. They will also work well in boiler rooms on the return line of the boiler circuit and in various industrial installations. They replace older models of dirt separators compliant with BN - 69/8864-05 standard, offering better performance and reliability.
Principle of operation and construction
The operation of the IOW-50/M dirt separator is based on the use of centrifugal force and mechanical filtration. Water entering the device creates a swirling motion, causing impurities to precipitate on the walls of the tank and settle to the bottom. Then it flows through a filter mesh with a density of 196 meshes per square centimeter, where smaller particles are retained. The "magneto" version is additionally equipped with a magnetic insert that captures ferromagnetic particles - e.g. rust. The purified water flows out of the device through the outlet connection. Regular removal of accumulated impurities through the drain connection ensures maintaining high efficiency of the dirt separator.
The construction of the IOW-50/M dirt separator ensures a high filtration effect thanks to the two-stage (centrifugal and collective) or three-stage (centrifugal, collective and magnetic in the magneto version) water purification process. The device can be made of hot-dip galvanized steel (with PZH certificate), corrosion-resistant painted or stainless steel (also with PZH certificate). Welding, flanged or threaded connections are available.
