This unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch from Lanberg, model RSFE-16P-2C-250, is a solid solution for networks requiring power to devices via Ethernet cable (PoE/PoE+). Designed for a variety of applications – from home monitoring systems to extensive industrial installations – it provides a reliable connection and efficient power management. It is ideal for alarm systems, fire protection, access control, as well as IP networks, VoIP and cable television.

Functionality and performance

The switch combines the functions of a switch and a PoE+ power supply, offering 16 Fast Ethernet ports with PoE/PoE+ support (802.3af/at) and 2 Combo Gigabit SFP/RJ-45 ports for uplink connection. The total PoE power budget is as high as 250W, allowing you to connect up to 16 devices of the IEEE 802.3af standard (up to 15W per port) or 8 devices of the IEEE 802.3at standard (up to 30W per port). The uplink ports allow easy connection to the backbone network or recorder in monitoring systems, providing simultaneous data transmission and access to recordings.

Intelligent power management and safety

A key feature of this switch is the intelligent PoE port disconnection function. If the available power budget is exceeded, the switch begins to gradually disconnect ports with the highest number, maintaining the operation of the remaining devices. This solution guarantees the stability of critical network components. Additionally, the switch has a built-in 6kV surge protection, protecting devices from damage caused by sudden voltage spikes.

Extended capabilities and easy installation

The switch also offers Extend mode, which enables data and PoE+ power transmission over a distance of up to 250 meters on a single cable (with a bandwidth limitation to 10 Mb/s) with VLAN port separation function. This is an ideal solution for extensive monitoring installations where devices are located far from the network distribution point. Installation is easy thanks to the included mounting brackets for 19" racks and a complete set of mounting screws. The device is Plug&Play - it does not require configuration and is ready to work immediately after connection.
