Thermal and acoustic insulation for pipelines – Paroc Section Alucoat T insulation

Paroc Section Alucoat T mineral wool insulation is an effective solution for thermal and acoustic insulation of heating, central heating, steam, water supply and air conditioning installations. The product combines the insulating properties of rock wool with protection against condensation thanks to the aluminum foil coating. This is particularly important in installations exposed to variable weather conditions and humidity.

Construction and properties

The insulation is made of high-quality rock wool, which provides excellent thermal (thermal conductivity coefficient 0.033 W/(m.K)) and acoustic insulation. The aluminum foil not only protects against moisture but also gives the insulated surface an aesthetic appearance. A self-adhesive tab facilitates installation and ensures a tight connection between sections of the insulation. This makes installation quick and does not require the use of additional tools besides basic mounting accessories.

The insulation has a star-shaped hole, allowing it to fit pipes with a diameter of 22 to 28 mm, which increases the product's versatility and minimizes the need to have many sizes. Mineral wool is a non-flammable material (softening temperature of fibers exceeds 1000°C) and does not emit harmful substances, confirmed by class M1 – the highest emission class for building materials. Furthermore, the material is characterized by low water absorption – significantly below the norm of 1 kg/m², which ensures long-term insulation effectiveness even in humid conditions.

Installation and application

Installation of the insulation is simple and intuitive – just lay it on the pipe, press the edges and glue the self-adhesive tab. It is important that the surfaces are clean and dry before applying the self-adhesive tape. To ensure maximum tightness, it is recommended to secure the joints with PAROC AluCoat Tape and cuffs at the ends of the insulation. The product is ideal for both industrial installations and residential or commercial buildings.
